California Tint Laws
Tint laws apply if your vehicle is registered in California. If your vehicle is registered in another State those tinting laws apply.
For the State of California window tint darkness is as follow:
Front Windshield legally only a strip 4 inches tall is allowed, must be non reflective film.
Front Windows – California legal means that 70% (shade) VLT must allowed through the front windows, any darker could end up with a fix-it ticket.
Rear Side Windows – Any shade can be used for the rear side, you can go as dark as you want, clients generally prefer 5% (limo tint), due to privacy.
Rear Windshield – Any shade can be used for the rear side, you can go as dark as you want, clients generally prefer 5% (limo tint), due to privacy. However a back-up camera is strongly recommended due to very low visibility at night.

How warranty works with us
We are part of Solar Gard Nationwide Car Window Tint Dealer Network, meaning if you get your car tinting with us, you will be covered across the nation.
If something goes wrong with the film, all you have to do is present a tint warranty form that we will be given to you after the tint job is done. That is great news for you and us, because if you move to another state or city our Solar Gard warranty will be covered at no cost to you.
What Warranty Does not Cover
Our Solar Gard films warranty do not cover the following circumstances:
- Improper film maintenance – some glass cleaners contain ammonia, and it will cause discoloration to the film when applied. Use non-ammonia based window cleaners only.
- Glass Breakage or glass defects – if your car windows have chips, cracks before application our warranty will be void. If your car windows are broken due to theft or accident, warranty does not cover reapplication.
- Non Authorized Solar Gard Dealers – we can not warranty a film if you get your car windows tinted with a non Solar Gard Dealer.
